Sunday, 9 September 2007 The American Legion Riders Hosted a Benefit For Firefighter Mark Wood. Mark was injured in a motorcycle accident and not been able to return to work.

The Legion Riders of Post 104 heard about Mark and his family from their friends in the Fire and Iron M/C. When they realized a fellow biker and friend was in trouble they decided to help the Woods out by hosting a feast in his honor.
Legion Riders Nick Ellis, Bob Albert and Butch Fernandez went to work. Big Bob McGann managed to cook without killing anybody. A great feast was put together and many of Mark and Terri's friends showed up to offer their support. Fire and Iron M/C, some Cobras M/C and the Italian Angels M/C dropped in to share a meal and wish Mark well.
After the dinner members of the Fire and Iron hung around to help with the cleanup and knock down a few brews. Everyone had a great time and a couple grand was raised to help Mark and his family out. The Sub Vets donated $50 toward the event.
Big Bob said he "ran my fat ass off again and saw some old friends. We just had a damn good time." We all wish Mark the best and hope he has a speedy recovery. You can see the activities here. You can see the activities here.
